The mission of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church is to lead people to personally know and practically experience our Lord Jesus Christ. We do that by:

We trust you will find much helpful information on our website. We invite you to come share the joys we're experiencing today and the exciting vision God gives us for tomorrow.

Pritchard Memorial started as a result of a mission Sunday School started by Dr. Thomas H. Pritchard and Dr. L.R. Pruette in a tent on Oct. 27, 1895, after a month long revival meeting.

The revival moved to Lycecum Hall near the Atherton Mill and on Sept. 9, 1900 it moved to Long's Hall and was called the Dilworth Sunday School.

By Nov. 17, 1901, several families from Olivet, First and Ninth Avenue Baptist churches met in Long's Hall in what is now the 1200 block of South Boulevard and organized the new church, named after Dr. Pritchard. The church, which had 46 charter members, were led by the Rev. J.Q. Adams.

The church purchased land at 1117 South Boulevard and Sunday School rooms were completed in 1902. The church's auditorium was competed in May of 1907. Since then two new auditoriums were built, one in 1926 which was destroyed by a fire in 1981 and the present sanctuary in 1969.
Ten pastors have led Pritchard in its 106 year history.

Strong leadership, with great vision, has led Pritchard Memorial to grow in fellowship and mission during this century in Charlotte's historic southend.
